The heartbeat of our overseas missions work is in Chiangmai and God has paved the way for Brighton Community Church to plant our first overseas church in 2006. We give thanks to God for His providence and blessings.
Our missionaries, Aaron Koh, James Tong, Grace Koay and our Thai full-time staff, Kan and Sei, have formed close relationships with the university students and families in the community. The new church will be a place of exuberant worship, fellowship, ministry and outreach.

Letter from Pastor Aaron (Feb 2010):
Dear Brightonites
Year 2009 ended with a big bang for Brighton Chiang Mai Church as we harvested more than 20 souls during our Christmas outreach programmes. We continued to celebrate with much joy as two new brothers and one sister were added to our spiritual family in January 2010.
‘A Year of Victory’ is our theme for this year. We seek a breakthrough after being stagnant for about two years. Even though we have converts regularly, we have problems with members committing to their faith and the church. This year, we desire to see at least 60 regular members worshipping with us. We pray that we will experience victory in the areas of worship, discipleship, community, service and outreach.
Thank God for Aj Ning, our newly employed pastor, who joined us at the end of last year. She is assisting me in the area of discipleship and pastoral care. She has also taken over from me to lead the working adults cell group. Her husband is also helping us in worship and will assist me as we plan to start a ‘man-to-man” group for the church to help the males in the church to rise up to take up more responsibilities and most importantly to grow more fervently in the Lord.
We also thank God for Uu who has just graduated and has the heart to serve. She has always been involved with the young people and is currently leading the Youth Ministry. Last year, more than 15 youths accepted Christ in the Youth Christmas Party. Most of these youths were regulars for our Saturday music classes. With this sudden increase of youths, we see a great potential to penetrate into the schools and to grow the Youth Ministry. Uu will join us in our staff team after she finishes her attachment with us.
Kan has started her theological studies since end of last year. She is currently doing her full-time studies in Chiang Mai Theological Seminary (OMF). With her heavy school workload, she now plays a smaller role in the Young-adult ministry thus allowing young leaders to rise up from within. She is still leading worship and preaches once in two months.
As a church, we have also started our church-building fund. We want to challenge the church members to take more ownership and to look forward to our very own church building. We hope that after this contract at the current place, we will be able to look for a permanent place. Currently our church premise is big enough but we do not have enough meeting rooms especially for the children and youth.
We have started selling brownies to encourage members to give to their friends as a form of outreach and at the same time to give to the church-building fund. We believe that this is the season to start preparing for the future.
Year 2010 is an exciting year for us. It is our prayer that we will grow in faith and that our members will reach out in love for Christ. Let us continue to serve the Lord together to build His church. Blessings Pastor Aaron
