Why do we get together with our loved ones? Why do we feel especially charitable and generous? These good things point us to something even better, something that will actually make a difference not just for a day or for a season, but for every day of our lives.

- 1. What are some situations in your life that frustrate and discourage you, which make you feel that God either doesn’t care or perhaps isn’t even there? How does the Christmas story address your circumstances?
- 2. When you ponder about the kind of King Jesus is (especially in contrast to earthly rulers), and how he came to us, what difference does it make to you practically? What wrong ideas and feelings of God held by you are exposed as lies of the devil by Christmas?
- 3. Do you feel that there is any indifference, negativity or even resistance about evangelism among your CG members? Explore the real reasons and causes behind why we would keep something as life-changing and earth-shattering as the gospel selfishly to ourselves. Confess all wrongful beliefs and commit yourselves as a CG to spread the good news with God’s help.

- 2. Capitalism has taught us to be consumeristic and reciprocal in our approach to relationships. The more we receive, the more we give and vice versa. Goodwill can be calculated and gives us a basis to respond in kind. How does knowing the unconditional love of Jesus that extends unconditional goodwill to you help you to show goodwill to all? Share one area you would like to grow in.
- 3. Do you desire to make an impact in the lives of those around you, whether it is through our charity, Brighton Connection, or otherwise? How does having a life-changing encounter with the joyous good news of Jesus Christ give you the will to do good that changes lives?
